Death of David Thomson Wallet, Castle Douglas. Until the turn of the year was in business at the Crown Hotel, Castle Douglas along with his brother Tom Wallet.

The wallet family has long been associated with Castle Douglas, and before taking over the Crown Hotel, deceased's father, Mr Robert Wallet, held the license at the King's Arms Hotel, where he succeeded Mrs Thomson, his mother-in-law. The family held the license at the Crown for over half a century.

The market at Castle Douglas was established by Mr Tom Wallet, uncle of the deceased.

Mr Wallet was 62 years of age and was a widower. He is survived by one daughter and a brother and sister. He was buried at Castle Douglas Cemetery.
